At first all I could think/hear in my head was Lita Ford singing "Oh let's get back to the cave/no one ever told us we had time to waste..."

I finally got that shook off. It's an interesting little shortie. Your verb tense in L1 seems to conflict with the remaining two lines. Wouldn't "trekking mountain" be more correct?

I must say I think I can empathize, I do believe I have lived this type of introspection in my life as well as put some muscle behind a few physical rock climbs.
