An Anchor In A Chaotic Life
I want to enter softly
like a whisper
comforting because
I know you're hurting
not knowing much about you
I tread lightly
unless I step on your bruised heart
forgive my heavy handed way
when finesse is required
earned and deserved
I kiss you gently
in the quiet places
loving you filling
the empty spaces
you have a heart of gold
filling my longing
with your silver tipped ink
I'm sitting amongst the empties
loneliness abounds
where sex doesn't fill
you give me an anchor
in a chaotic life
give me hope for the future me
with your strength and tenacity
bleeding out your thoughts
with the realness I can only hope for
I reach for the stars
grasping one within my reach
place it in your fingers
my love for you to keep
