Take Me Over
Something lingers in my flesh
a taste of something old and dead
but how can what’s dead still hurt me?
my eyes burn with tears
and I can’t breathe again
I’m drowning in black waters
the sky is dark, no one can hear me
I’m the only one, here I go
I hold my breath and just let it drag me under
I feel a rusted nail in my heart
pierce my veins and collect my blood
paint the ground with all my pain
my every loss is your new gain
my hand shakily holds the blade
and I go numb again
The black waters have transformed into blood
it’s everywhere, I can’t see, breathe, or hear
the sky is gone, they have all left now
I’m all alone, here I go
I close my eyes and let it take me over
a taste of something old and dead
but how can what’s dead still hurt me?
my eyes burn with tears
and I can’t breathe again
I’m drowning in black waters
the sky is dark, no one can hear me
I’m the only one, here I go
I hold my breath and just let it drag me under
I feel a rusted nail in my heart
pierce my veins and collect my blood
paint the ground with all my pain
my every loss is your new gain
my hand shakily holds the blade
and I go numb again
The black waters have transformed into blood
it’s everywhere, I can’t see, breathe, or hear
the sky is gone, they have all left now
I’m all alone, here I go
I close my eyes and let it take me over
