A Tough Girl
I want a tough girl.
She knows what she wants.
She won't take shit from anyone.
She's been through hard times,
But she's a survivor.
She's an independent woman.
Works hard for what she has.
Doesn't take handouts.
Has no regrets.
But she will let her guard down,
Share her deepest secrets.
Confide in me.
Trust in me.
And I would do the same,
Lower my gates,
Let her in,
See me as the man that I let few others know.
We both built walls, but we tear them down for each other.
That's how I will be different.
When other men refused to open to her,
She swore off love.
You can't get hurt if you don't let yourself fall.
But I will show her that the fall can be a thrill.
Teach her to use her wings.
And the adventure can begin.
She needs to be tough,
So she can lift herself up and try the fall again.
She knows what she wants.
She won't take shit from anyone.
She's been through hard times,
But she's a survivor.
She's an independent woman.
Works hard for what she has.
Doesn't take handouts.
Has no regrets.
But she will let her guard down,
Share her deepest secrets.
Confide in me.
Trust in me.
And I would do the same,
Lower my gates,
Let her in,
See me as the man that I let few others know.
We both built walls, but we tear them down for each other.
That's how I will be different.
