Tattered Tomes

Tell me a tale
Of love and betrayal
Scarred heroes and gods
And demons with spiked tails
Sing me a song
To set me a tremble
Of the lordly gods
But let their be devils

Eyes staring from the mist
Under winter's lonely moon
In shadows where Cupid's kiss
Lays blessing on the tomb
Sacraments in spilt blood
Bound laws to immortal ones
Lay the armor in the mud
As angels sing and hum

Broken oaths upon smiles
Lay foundations on the Earth
Triple threats on lotus vile
Locusts rise in rebirth
Dragons watch from the sky
Raining tears onto the land
Witness the fall, angels die
And then live among man

Sit upon gilded thrones
And scribe the names
In tattered tomes
Rise above pits below
On waves of flame
Reign in shadows

Creation in the stars
By Immortal's mighty hand
For a game from miles afar
The laughing of the band
Secrecy laid open
So that all the eyes can see
The fables dripped in the sin
And stained with demon's cream

Adam laid Eve upon the altar
And placed taint on her rose
Taking shade under the Apple tree
From the hellish paradise
The river of Styx flows
Under bleaching suns
Fly the crows

Death came onto the Earth
And suffering came to man
The labored breathing of hearth
Gives to them, plagues of damned
Weeping satyrs in groves
Dance and revel as they laugh
For the end of man is soon
As time wilts in their path

Sit upon gilded thrones

In tattered tomes
Rise above pits below
