Insomnia

The wheels begin to turn
As everyone turns out their lights
No rest for this dark entity
A spark ignites halting  
The machine from winding down
Kicking it back into gear
The gears turn slowly at first but
Pick up speed as it warms up
Light bulbs flash on
Dimly then brighter
As the ideas flow into the circuit
The arms thrust forward and back
Weaving the intricate strategies and concepts
The mother board has programmed for tonight
The steam rises through the bellows
Trying to help the arms keep up
The hot oil flows in
Flowered porcelain chalices
Feeding the revving mechanism
The much needed fuel
It will need for the rest of the night
Plans are reviewed, changed or discarded
If need be
There is no rush
Tomorrow
It will rest
