Thinking of Trains and Gravity (or) Time and Space
This parallel hell, I do detest
Will our trains never meet?
Reaching, reaching
never close enough to touch
Yet these wheels of determination
Have already been set in motion
What is it within me
That must always insist on proceeding through
on the least likely of paths?
Like the defiant child
who first learns of gravity
Never to fly (Oh really?)
jumping from the tallest tree
soaring to the ground
Pain
Yet....
We are ingenious creatures, no?
And flight isn't just for the birds
So if we can not reach
Then let us soar
Through time and space
to re-arrange the pieces of me and you
and fit
Not into a singularity
Never that
I wouldn't want that, and neither would you
Only to connect
So I could experience and witness
the journey that is you
And for you to witness my journey too
And the touching of skin
The touching of our temporary skin
To sweeten this journeys ride
To carry us through to the final destination
Will our trains never meet?
Reaching, reaching
never close enough to touch
Yet these wheels of determination
Have already been set in motion
What is it within me
That must always insist on proceeding through
on the least likely of paths?
Like the defiant child
who first learns of gravity
Never to fly (Oh really?)
jumping from the tallest tree
soaring to the ground
Pain
Yet....
We are ingenious creatures, no?
And flight isn't just for the birds
So if we can not reach
Then let us soar
Through time and space
to re-arrange the pieces of me and you
and fit
Not into a singularity
Never that
I wouldn't want that, and neither would you
Only to connect
So I could experience and witness
the journey that is you
And for you to witness my journey too
And the touching of skin
The touching of our temporary skin
To sweeten this journeys ride
To carry us through to the final destination
