Venus

Where are notes of gypsum kept
When Venus rose and a flower wept
Accordingly I looked – through a burning latch
Neither eased nor certain of success

Piercing ailments of the morning hour
With Venus upon her looking tower
Impaled a brightness of ample power
As she sang alone to the little flower.
