A New Reality
I sense your torment.
At the edge of chaos,
you teeter precariously.
To jump or not to jump?...
...that is the question.
For if you make the leap,
your whole known way of being
in this world will come crashing down
like the Berlin wall,
revealing a new reality.
All the beliefs and and stories
You grew up with
About how life should be,
How you should act
And move through this world
Are suddenly revealed for what they are....
White lies and half-truths other people told you,
Simply because they have been blind, too.
You will finally see with new eyes
the beauty life holds.
From that point on,
life forever takes on a new color,
like looking through technicolor lenses.
There’s no going back.
A veil is lifted
And truth walks towards you;
Her gentle gaze meeting yours;
Her quiet, but unmistakable presence
Reveals the beautiful nuances of life.
She shows you that not everything has to be black & white.
The texture of life feels different, too.
It’s abrasive in the way you need
a good scratch on a nagging itch.
Providing much needed relief.
You feel a new skin envelop you,
An armor that empowers you
To push back fearlessly
On the things you no longer believe.
You find yourself finally taking a stand,
Your voice strong with conviction.
It’s like you just came to
after driving aimlessly and unaware.
You finally see the road signs leading you through life.
The words of others suddenly make perfect sense.
Their words are no longer esoteric blather,
but instead insightful pieces of wisdom
meant for your ears.
Words that echo back to you
the same voice
that has been whispering to you for years.
Can you make the leap
From your limited and dull existence
Into a richer, more sensuous life?
Take my hand
And leave the lie behind.
At the edge of chaos,
you teeter precariously.
To jump or not to jump?...
