Death Of A Love

He stood before me with blood shot eyes
As he held the gun
And I held the knife
Broke my heart it did
For the one l once love is before me
He's the one who wants to take my life
"If I can't have you, no one else can," he says
Through murderous determine eyes
There's no escape I know
Tonight I'll probably die
When did it get so bad, I wonder
We had such a perfect life
He was my armour he was the light
Until he got dark,
Until he became the night
Possession and obsession became his desire
So I made a choice and took flight
It angered my once love
So he send a letter stating,
"No matter what, you'll always be mine,"
And for a while I was free
Going on with my life
Till one night I came home
To meet the man I haven't seen in a while
So here I stand
In my small kitchen
Trembling with the metal blade in my hand
Sharp breaths and pleading eyes
"Don't," I barely cried
"Why did you go?" he ask
His tone as cold as ice
"I loved you so much," he continued, "now your gonna die,"
My eye lids close in anticipation of the imminent end
But.......nothing happened
So I open back my eyes.
He is still standing at my fore
But something was different
The gun wasn't pointed at me anymore
But now at my once lover's head
"I can't, I love you too much," his trembling lips said, "so I choose this instead,"
I was too bemuse to quickly register what he meant
And through dilated eyes I watch as he pulled the trigger
And in seconds my once lover......he was dead.
