Lovers' Date, Full Circle

He sits on the park bench alone
Toying with his wristwatch
Looking at the beer bottle
empty, clutched in his hand
He wishes he can go home,
not yet, not yet, he whispers
silently, Its time to see her
she will be here
-Flash-
She is a beautiful woman
Not too tall, quite petite
In fact she looks like a girl
Barely into her teen
Until one sees the curves
Of her ripe body
All ready for love and loving
She doesn’t know it, not yet anyhow
-Flash-
Fidgety hands duel each other
Stop, stop he whispers, silently
She will be here soon
She will never forget, it’s our date
No, I have not waited long enough
I miss her so much, an hour seems eternal
He almost gnawed his knuckle raw
Nervous, seems like the first date
-Flash-
He marries her at the small Chapel
His heart is bursting with joy
Holding her hands, kissing her lips
Man and wife, o what joy!
I love you she whispers in his ears
I love you too, my wife, my life
He says back to her, clutching her tight
A tear of happiness rolls down his cheek
-Flash-
He sees her now, walking towards him
He stands up, his face radiant
He opens his arms wide
as she runs towards him
and into his warm embrace
whoever reaches here first, waits
he says and she smiles
I did, didn’t I?
-Flash-
Look its Grandpa, lying on that bench
Looking at grandma’s grave again
Never miss a day visiting, the old fool
Wait…I think he is…
He must have caught his death of cold.
