Truth is...
I'll tell you what the truth is
but the.. truth is ..it hurts
Born in this world I became apart of you &
remembering how you popped in and out of my life it don’t make it harder to..
help you understand that every single one of your blood cells run through my veins & since you never took your invitation to the birth of your newborns, don’t worry about our last name.
My hero I saw you as
my superman soaring you were there to catch me if I fell
nowadays no visit, phone call, not even a letter in the mail
yesterday I was your princess while today I'm a piss test
how could you leave your only daughter to troop through life without your guidance
thought that u & I would break the trend of children not having a father figure
though you were a figure of a father..I wouldn't dare give you that title.
daddy in my eyes you were my Neil Armstrong, MLK,& barrack Obama
don't know if u left because of financial difficulties, stress, or whatever you had going on with my mama
I didn’t ask to be here...
so I'll tell you what the truth is
but the.. truth is ..it hurts
don't know how you left and don't really care why
have my own outlook on things
don't need my mothers eyes
you have your key to your own freedom
won't be sorry to mention I didn't need him
no tears shed over here
wish him luck through life
& pray that life itself didn’t defeat him
just another generous donor
sorry ass nigga to society
& sure as hell don't need your sisters to side with me
no I don’t need your apology
your identity is the past
& its okay if this poem didn’t help you acknowledge me
so I told you what the truth is
& the.. truth is ..it hurt
but the.. truth is ..it hurts
