Lightning Strikes

- Lightning Strikes -

Lightning strikes, and in the sky,
A serpent of light before my eye!
Parting the night with an emerald gleam,
Carried from on high, by godly stream.
It parts the worlds and rends the veil,
Beyond the flesh and beyond the pale!
And in the instant I behold this flash,
The sky rumbles, the sea does splash.
Night birds cry and the winds howl…
Whilst even grim mountains that scowl,
With rugged faces worn by the years:
They are moved just then, unto tears.
For some sights change more than us,
They change the world, and so thus…
The universe entire, in a kindred way!
That is how the gods so often play,
Whilst mortals slumber, and never see:
Such a fleeting glimpse of eternity…
As my eyes beheld, as above I relate.
Too much for some to contemplate!

And yet to me, not so strange a sight,
But a welcome one, on arcane night…
Or, on mundane days: of sunlit glory.
For revelations can cure one’s worry,
When brought from heaven to earth…
A new perception to, in us, so birth.
Each time the sky rocks with thunder,
You never know if there, in wonder…
One might catch sight of celestial fire!
Or see far more than one might desire.
Just as in the forest, womb of nature,
We too might grow and there mature:
Awakening in perception and power.
Called by divinity, to a certain hour…
Across gulfs of time and space to see,
To feel the pulling: of a greater destiny.
But anywhere a seeker might so find,
The means to go beyond one’s mind!
Wonder is all around us if we do dare,
The serpent’s gaze, the stars’ glare…

It is all there, all waiting for us as one,
To discover the wonder and the fun!
Life is in the moment; let none slip by.
There are wonders that crawl and fly,
And flit and swim, and even speak…
If the mind is open to find and seek!
In every living thing and things beyond,
Some called by will, some by a wand:
Therein is the magic that others forget.
Let it is not pass by, lest you regret…
Not taking a moment to consider all,
Before rushing onward to slip and fall.
For sometimes it can save us to wait,
Long enough to, our curiosity so sate.
There is enchantment enough to spare,
For hearts that take the time to care.
Rainbow bridges to far-away realms,
Wait just beyond our mortal selves…
But within the reach of but one arm!
That is magic’s power and its’ charm.
