Whole again - Trilogy of Senryu
You swallowed me whole
Chewed me to bits and pieces
Spewed out particles
Crushed like candy sticks
Greedily devoured and scrunched
Splinters pierced my heart
You will not affect
My existence anymore
I’ll be whole again
Chewed me to bits and pieces
Spewed out particles
Crushed like candy sticks
Greedily devoured and scrunched
Splinters pierced my heart
You will not affect
My existence anymore
I’ll be whole again

I may have chipped a tooth eating this one Ms Chi. But I'll keep chewing. You know I love your work Ms C. Always. xo

Oh no! So sorry about the tooth!!! Yes, some things are hard to chew and swallow. But as long as we don't choke to death on them, everything will be good again. Someday. Love your heartfelt response, Twitch, as always. xo

Thank you for your great comment, Poe! Yummy? Me? Maybe :-) but you should be able to spew out the carapace if you (people in general) try a bite! Love your idea to put me together with bandages :-). Would make me a fine mummy!xo

I love the simplicity of the
final statement, it's strong
and yet acknowledges the
vulnerabity of the past...
excellent, again, Chi..:)

no matter what someone does to you,
you will stand up and be whole again.xo

I felt every bit of pierced flesh and emotion, completely raw but very powerful voice!
Very good set of Senryu Ms. Chi, full of impact.

Thank you very much for your heartfelt comment, Vee. I much appreciate it and am very glad that you feel the raw emotion underlying this piece. It had to come out like that. xo

Great piece Miss Chi ... Loved the metaphors, it brings a wonderful dynamic to your work here ...
(scrunched) ... Marvelously used.

Pleased about your kind comment, LSP! I'm always a bit unsure if I really achieve to get the right vocable and am relieved to hear that "scrunched" seems to fit :-). Thank you so much for your feedback!

okay, Chi, I need to be a little critical & I hope you won't be angry w/my review. as one serious writer to another, I'm uncomfortable w/the word 'scrunched.' it seems juvenile to me, even though it appears in dictionaries & thesauruses ('gnawed' might have been better). you were probaly going for the sound attached to it. when you're unsure abt a word, search for a synonym of the word. I do that.
fine poem as a whole, esp. the defiance at the end...

Dear John!
I welcome honest criticism and am NOT angy with your critical remark since I'm fully aware that as a writer in a -to me- foreign language I may fail to chose appropriate words. I'm very glad you told me that and will look for another term.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! xo

I like how you have played with words such as "Bits" And "pieces"...All the bits and halves make one whole...

Yes, if you glue them together .-). Scars will remain and the surface will look like mosaic. But then again, whole again.
Thank you, Liz! Glad you stopped vy!

Now you have me thinking of one my all time favorite female musicians, Bonnie Raitt.

Bonnie is only one of the finest slide guitar players around...
She appears to be a really warm person as well; the ego isn't too big for most concert halls.
