Dear Dad,

Why is it that I can hear your laugh
In the back of my head
On days where I can barely smile?
On days where all I want to do
Is shut the world out.
And dwell in self pity.
I hear your laugh in moments
Where I feel lost
Like a child at the fair.
You bring me comfort
When I find you hiding
In the vault's of my memory banks.
Counting my blessings
Like silver dollars.

I guess you could say
You are still here
On days where
I need someone to remind me
Life is Beautiful,
So why not laugh.
