STONE
You seeks the saintly One who loves you,
Walking with a stone in your shoe.
A gown of silver shadows
On a foot cut and bruised.
A stone can talk so persuasively,
Whispering: is it worth the walk?
There’s only your end at the end,
Friend, sit and we can talk.
Here beside the night fire
Or by the desert water.
There’s light in my eyes,
Whispered the diamond in your shoe.
Onward she stumbled
Upwards - she wondered:
For this stone’s but a piquancy,
That whispered St.One was you.
Walking with a stone in your shoe.
A gown of silver shadows
On a foot cut and bruised.
A stone can talk so persuasively,
Whispering: is it worth the walk?
There’s only your end at the end,
Friend, sit and we can talk.
Here beside the night fire
Or by the desert water.
There’s light in my eyes,
Whispered the diamond in your shoe.
Onward she stumbled
Upwards - she wondered:
For this stone’s but a piquancy,
That whispered St.One was you.
