Dad's Blindness

I want to paint her portrait
he said
What color are her eyes?
Sadness was the only
one present
Her eyes are hazel
I said
He looked a little harder
but still couldn't see
When I close my eyes
I see her
he said
That beautiful woman
with hazel eyes
My heart breaking is
the only sound
I put my hand on his
shoulder and said
I knew you could
see her
