The Garden of Evil

Brilliant hue of lilac
bluish pink on the field
of a secret garden
within the woods
the glade serene

nodding yellow poppies
with lavender blooms
nudging one another
on green grassy vale
breath of fresh air

within the grass
the serpents crawl
sinuous in their dances
for prey to nudge
their unholy trails

together hussle the scorpions
cockroaches, millipedes
wormy elongated centipedes
they crawl together
in regiment

the laughter of souls
ending in frightful cackles
the victims of beauty
and its ugliness within
dwelling together forever

within the glade
the gates of hell
hidden well
by the Elysian garden
there evil lurks

For those charmed
by the wondrous garden
within shall forever stay
nary a whisper of hope
do they have for escape.
