Haiyan
The blue of peace
above and on earth
sky and sea
mirror tranquility
the wind and rain
crashed into a union
They raged in wanton glee
a thrust at the world
a jab at the living
masses of people
laughing at the frailty
of the human race
They screamed together
in vicious glee
sent sea-bound vessels
up into the air
fly they did
though not airborne
They fed on the screams
of the dying hordes
they rejoiced in the cries
of born babies, and unborn
they licked the tears
of the bereaved
Haiyan
the majestic cruel
force, born of nature
arms for mother earth
to show its sovereignty
demanding sacrifices.
