Open The Door
We found him
near his chair
dust to dust
on the floor
eyes looking out
just lying there
cold light shining
breathing no more
curtains gently swaying
spirits in the air
no more pain
no more war
wind blown chimes
angels so near
take him home
open your door
let him enter
in your care
through your heart
love will pour.

Seemed to be a peaceful death.
Although - to die alone
wouldn't be my favourite.
You found soothing words for him ...

A clear picture of death which always brings tears and fear, but here, it seems so peaceful.

We're all on the same train, some will exit sooner than others, in the end it's all the same.
Thoughtful and poignant piece.

It's sooooooo beautifully simplistic, and yet so compelling I wished I would have wrote it myself!

Death is a doorway, so many believe.
You gave it the respect here, skilfully done.
