a hard copy is sometimes the best. I learned that the hard way when I started writing my own songs. still have a hard time reading the notes but a hard is the best. good write, I enjoyed

Sloppy and uninspiring makes me toss the whole thing. I won't write for the sake of writing. I need to have a relationship with my ink...

the point I was trying to make is that I wrote something, didn't have a hard copy and when I tried to do it again, I wasn't able to recreate it to the point where I liked it as much.

Yes, I understood the point of this ink. Sorry if I took a line from the piece and ran with it, but that stanza stood out to me and I couldn't help but comment on it. Xo

Done this more times that I can remember. I always have at least a paper and pen on me now...

well I can't say all the time...just doesn't work with curious daycare children who will use up the pen ink, leave the top off, or scribble on the paper.

Oooh I lost a whole notebook of poems before.  I felt as if I had writers block.  Now I save them in multiple locations. Great poem

before getting my laptop, I too had a collection of poems. I have no idea where it is now (probably in a box that has yet to be opened)

i carry my smart phone and send myself a voice msg..lol

on the other hand maybe we shouldn't be concerned---after all attempts to rectify the problem my be at the expense of privacy which has already been reduced in the wake of 9/11

I have talked many times with my two younger bros. Who both also write... That some of the best stuff I ever wrote
Is lost in my head lol, I'm horrible at using a pen n paper
nowadays, I used to do it all the time, but I'm a 'tech head'
it's as jf I MUST have it digitized lol, at the same time, becuz I'm also an artist (of pen, pencil, n brush) when I have paper
That's what I'm inclined to do, DRAW! lol
doesn't bother me too much losing an ink,
I ink totally 'in the moment' of thought anyways :)

yes, I remember a very brief period of time after undergrad days when a friend and I were contemplating a band which would focus on our own songs. A chord or a note in a sequence that I never felt like I could replicate again...At least the songs that I wrote all by myself I did record on a tiny tape player.

Some do have sloppy writes but it's what they feel at the moment, which doesn't take from the creativity, as long as it make sense to them. Understand your view though.

Sometimes it isn't sloppy but rather being able replicate all the words in the original and falling, which makes me feel like some important essence has been lost forever...
