Impacted Wisdom Teeth
Loosening my grip on my long lost friends.
Refusing to tie a string that could possibly fray.
Striving to find a cure for whatever ails the common man.
Mirrors upon mirrors to reflect pain back onto the predecessor.
Cut the cord, and watch the ceiling crumble down.
Can you feel the pressure pull you down?
Can you see the answers to the questions
we never expected to be told about?
We wear our hearts so dangerously
close to the end of our sleeves.
How relatively short a life,
as opposed to a man attached to a vital machine.
The end is coming, yet it bides its time,
listening to each individual cry,
each separate victim's scream.
Bite onto the axis, rupture the throat
Before the parasite becomes the host.
Cycles of living and life ending comes to a sudden stop
And eventually you forget how to breathe.
