I'm right here, ready to learn

You stay with me after school
You always keep your cool
I know I get on your nerves at times
But you're always there no matter why

I try to keep up with the class
You've given me breaks in the past
I know that probably won't last
But I'm grateful as it's hashed

My past haunts me
I can't stand to think on it
I love the way you're not "them"
Being teacher of the year isn't a sin

Thank you for being what you've been
I couldn't ask for a better mentor or friend
