Remember
Do you remember me?
the lost melodies of a child's past
singing in the summer's eve
oh how time has gone by so fast
the red flag risen high above the land
we would not be defeated, we defied all law
I remember how we walked hand in hand
do you not remember any of it at all?
smell the earth and stand in the green fields
this was meant for us and we loved it all
when did we grow weak? when did we wield?
how could you not remember our fall?
they took all that we had
twisted the truths we once lived by
turned the sane into the mad
and left hollowness into eyes once alive
Do you remember me?
do you remember the silence
watching our homes burn to the sea
heads raised proud and tall in defiance?
Can you still remember us?
the warm feeling of my hand
squeezing yours with wholehearted trust
as our dreams transformed into sand?
the lost melodies of a child's past
singing in the summer's eve
oh how time has gone by so fast
the red flag risen high above the land
we would not be defeated, we defied all law
I remember how we walked hand in hand
do you not remember any of it at all?
smell the earth and stand in the green fields
this was meant for us and we loved it all
when did we grow weak? when did we wield?
how could you not remember our fall?
they took all that we had
twisted the truths we once lived by
turned the sane into the mad
and left hollowness into eyes once alive
Do you remember me?
do you remember the silence
watching our homes burn to the sea
heads raised proud and tall in defiance?
Can you still remember us?
the warm feeling of my hand
squeezing yours with wholehearted trust
as our dreams transformed into sand?
