Her
She is beautiful to me
and never screams unless it is in the bedroom
and listens and does not presume
and laughs easily with a grasp of wit and irony.
She practices the exquisite art of reciprocity
and says humorous and provocative things in and out of bed
and does not go to sleep with issues about me unsaid
and possesses a playful and uninhibited sensuality.
She inspires me to reach for what I don't know
and never settles for the insipid and dreaded mediocrity
and helps bring ideas only whispered to actuality
and does it with the unequivocal trust that she's always my friend and never my foe.
Is she out there?

I adore this poem. As I was reading it I was thinking- you better hold on to whoever this is- then the last lines came. if you find her, please ask if she has a brother or sister for me :P

Love the way the words draw the reader in to truely believing that you have found the one, the ultimate, until the last two lines, superb an d clever.

Ideals, like beautiful statues, are lovely as a guide, and that's where we start, but reality - with imperfections you can live to love or grow into - is ultimately even lovelier - because it's real.
