One Final Graven Kiss

Glimmers of carmine
Leaching from the broken vessel
Filling the silence, wall to wall

Bleach forms to cloud your vision
As clouds form cataracts
And cataracts form black eye pits

Dispel a single tear
To join the filaments
The sarcastic allusion

This world wasn't worthy
Of such majesty anyway
The didn't, couldn't be fair

Perfectly still
My paper doll
Fragile wrapping, inanimate heart

As warmth touches cold
An obsidian kiss
To seal a life of grief.

(The "sarcastic allusion" refers to one of my other poems "The Tight Rope Anchor" to clarify the reference. Thank you for reading)
