Image for the poem Over there She grows

Over there She grows

She scraped at the four walls falling
digging through to a perfect opening
there on the other side
She glimpsed such magnificent depths
caught hold and held strong in that moments notice
a quince grove
sown to beauty
blooming
with flowering trees of purpled leaves
drenched with love under the sunshine
knowing at once it was where She belonged
climbed on through the rabbit hole
and thus escaped this horrid place
where black and white photographs
bled no forgiveness
giving their concrete expressions
She left them
to lie along a couloured distance
resting Her head in the tall soft grasses
She got what She came for
and began to grow
never leaving
not now not ever
She had found
Her roots
