"For my Angel of Light, Danielle," (In her Darkest Hour).

Already Distraught with the
ongoing trauma of a 9 year
old cousin going through
surgery to remove seven
masses from his brain, today
she finds-out that her dad
has lung-cancer
They do not yet have a
definitive answer on the
severity or extent of its
Damage or if it's Terminal

And then she turned to me with
that look on her face that let
me know that she was about to
crumble and said, "I Don't want
to lose my Daddy,"
And I could hear the little girl
in her voice that she still was
inside
And I could hear her heart-break
as her voice cracked
And on the bed beside me she lay

And she pushed herself into me and
buried her head in my chest and
put my arm around her and wanted
Solace and Consolation
I know that she tried to keep her
Composure
But I could still feel her as
uncontrollably she Shook and Shuttered

She had become Saddened by the Trials
and Hardness of this Life
Saddened in her Style
Saddened in her Smile
And when she did Smile it was the one
that looks Weak,
Insincere

Her Tears fell like Great Drops of
Sorrow and Plopped as they hit my chest
Echoing-out her Heartache
And I Wondered, how much Pain that even
a True Angel of Light like herself could
take

I gave her the best Words of Encouragement
that I could, to try to let her know that
I was there for her and Understood
Because sometimes I think that in the
Darkest of hours even mis-placed Words can
feel like Healing Showers

*For my only Angel of Light; My Wife, Danielle
who today, (September 19th), found-out that her
          Dad has lung-cancer.
All this as her 9 y/o cousin lays unconscious
          in a drug-induced coma after having brain-surgery
to remove seven masses from his brain.
Doctors do not yet know what the outcomes of
          either family-member will be.
