A Question

Shall I ask and who?
do I wish to know if that I ask
is not to my wanting?
Is there need and if so what?
have never asked before
looked in books and stories,
have not found the question.
Will I listen when I hear?
my question no more than me,
does not really matter,
yet nags me in the night.

I have found someone to ask,
at least I think I have,
who has a question too.
Why do I want to know?
that I cannot answer.....
too late to stop,
shall listen when I hear,
hoping to understand,
more I wait, the less it seems
night is passed, day-light shines
I think I'll ask the time.
no dispute in that.
