Sand ( Edited)
The grave-yard slabs
once straight and lettered
wear the ages no better
than the man beneath the sod.
Reaper-winds cut into the stone
returning proud monuments
to the very grains of sand
from which the stone had come
before being riven off the cliff
to serve mans pride
and dreams of eternity,
while the writhing worm
turns flesh to soil
casting man back . . . .
upon the face of earth
