Young Freedom
A youngster breaking into the world
Trying to pave a way for their life
There's always a restraining hand
A voice saying "No, it's not time."
The indignation, the protesting struggle
Building up behind the mouth of this youth
Flowing through their altering body
Inspiring actions hasty and uncouth
They begin to rampage and rage wildly
Breaking laws and their mamas hearts
Attempting to prove their independence
Not realizing the proper way to start
Some curb their impulsive body and tongue
Halting their instincts in favor of reason
Thinking and considering consequences
To any action taken in this confusing season
Realizing rebellion won't command respect
Neither will sulking in pathetic self pity
Perceiving that responsibility must be learned
Because freedom sure as hell ain't free
Trying to pave a way for their life
There's always a restraining hand
A voice saying "No, it's not time."
The indignation, the protesting struggle
Building up behind the mouth of this youth
Flowing through their altering body
Inspiring actions hasty and uncouth
They begin to rampage and rage wildly
Breaking laws and their mamas hearts
Attempting to prove their independence
Not realizing the proper way to start
Some curb their impulsive body and tongue
Halting their instincts in favor of reason
Thinking and considering consequences
To any action taken in this confusing season
Realizing rebellion won't command respect
Neither will sulking in pathetic self pity
Perceiving that responsibility must be learned
Because freedom sure as hell ain't free
