She Helps Me Find Things

“Try looking for it”, she tells me
“I did try”, I tell her
“It’s gone
“I can’t find it”
She walks over to the first place I looked
“I’ve already looked there
“I even double and triple checked there”
She bends over and moves things about
Within 10 seconds time she comes up with the missing item
“Maybe next time you ought to try looking with your eyes open”
She tells me
With half a grin
And loving eyes
“Thank you”
I tell her
“You’re welcome”
She says
We kiss
And go our separate ways
I am comforted by the thought
That she will always be there
To help pick up the pieces
Of my absent mind
She’s my better half
My anchor
My opened eyes
She helps me find things
Without her I am lost
