NEARING FOREVER

She lies inside the remnants of her Babylon.

The atom of this evening, tired of existing.

She asked for my soul.

Explaining how she had sold hers,

years ago for a father figure.

The irony of God's eye.

A melancholy song, spread among the wreckage.

Sulfuric fumes bring down the birds.

Speech gets lost within the sheets,

and I agreed to do anything for her.

She smiled, and whispered her first request...

"Suffer"

Now here I am,ever since.
