Talk to Each Other

I always try my best
To understand what I've done wrong
Or to figure out what I didn't do
In most every situation
But when I just can't get it
And I've exhausted all my efforts
Sitting for hours overanalyzing
It fills me with frustration
Thought processes fire up like mad
When behaviour patterns alter
And I take a look back
At every interaction and conversation
Was it this, or that, should I have responded differently, or
Maybe the change has nothing to do with me at all
But how can I know for sure
If I don't get an explanation?
I wish people could just be honest
And tell you straight to your face
Why it is that they are acting strange
So that you can learn
I want to fix broken hearts
Restore smiles and happiness, always
But how can I be expected to solve
Problems I don't understand?
Imagine how much easier things would be
If more people like you and me
Would express are true emotions
In clear calm ways
Fights would be minimized
Conflict would get resolved more quickly
And we would become better people
All around
Instead we just avoid and
Drop sudden behaviour changes
Hoping the other person will pick up on it
But by the time they do it's too late
So rather than causing unnecessary stress
Can't we all please just
Stop
And talk to each other
A little more
