Just Another Silly Love Poem
Okay...Let's get this outta the way
Without rushing
Let's just say..."You take my breath away"
Yet, give me oxygen
Pulling & tugging, at the strings of my heart
Like ox with cart, while I, plow your earth
Blessed to attest & acknowledge
My deeply held fondness, for your fertile soil
But see, that sounds to me, like...
Just another silly love poem
And I don't know if that's really worth doing
Repeating, what might seem like a carbon copy of
What somebody, has undoubtedly said, at some point before
When I wish...That I could say more
I write this...
Desperately trying to express, all the bliss that I get
From the sound of your NAME________
...alone...
With your place being my home...My Fortress of Solitude
The loving abode within my comfort zone, I owe it all...To you
I do...
And I did, back then...Right now, until the very end
Whenever that is, it will be too soon
Although, once again, that being said
Reads like...
Just another silly love poem
And unlike, Maya Angelou...I don't know why the caged bird sings
See, you & me...We're free, from the chains & restraints of anything
That does not pertain, to, love being made
Or, joy being gained, from our sacred interlude
The price we've paid, with all the pain we've had to go through
Set the stage, for us to find virtue
In each others, nurturing arms
Where all, our old scars, transform, into a beautiful art form
A welcomed departure, from, the mundane ho-hum
Conditional love, so many believe in
What we have, is so much more than the typical norm...It's exquisite
And justice wouldn't be served, if I penned, the basic equivalent of
Just another silly love poem
But that's exactly what I've done
It just doesn't, quite, capture our love
