Run through the red lights

Drowning romantics with rotgut
He’s drinking meaner than hard rain
Pissing on engine coals to shut
Down tonight's last outgoing train

Beating you with saddle leather
Veins hanging from a shopworn heart
Your book of dreams on a tether
Till he tears the pages apart

Chorus

You got to run through the red lights
Break the roadblocks down
Fuck Friday night fights
In this bullshit town

He wears prison like dime store musk
A bottle of cheap hooch in hand
The sun runs off into the dusk
As the child makes some more demands

T.V. in the trailer kitchen
Gets shot out by a stolen gun
The trigger finger keeps itching
So now you've got to run, girl, run

Repeat Chorus
