Love in the water-fall

Love was in the waterfall
tumbling in black Welsh rock,
love in the wind combing
through spring shoots,
blown away the scales
waking months of sleeping
soft green leaves curled in utero
force their impatient way
gaining light and freedom
for one brief year.
Watch and understand,
appreciate this gestation
love  in a water-fall,
wind and welcome rain.
Lovers tumble in the meadow,
dark nights retreating 'til October,
when all shall start again;
bellies swell and buds grow plump.
