Falling back in Mind...

He’s at it again... alone, and staring at her picture
Lost within the image, just wishing he could kiss her
Speaking to his heart, it begs-
"come take me lover I am yours"
Then dark trepidation overwhelms him,
as he slumps to the floor...

Can’t begin to love her,
no, no his heart wouldn’t dare
Apprehensive of love’s true intention,
as if he doesn’t care
He’s erected himself a barrier yet,
it’s filled with many holes
Damaged from the times,
when love made weak his hold

So when to life came
his heart’s desires he'd hidden down deep
She threw out her arms invitingly,
expecting he’d make the leap
But he gave  pause...  
once he heard mind's echoed voices leak
"I am love,  with no conditions or reservations "  
It feels right, there's sincererity in the words she speaks...

Maybe just once more...
he hopes on a 'wing and a prayer'
Heart can’t be broken again ,
he doesn’t have another to spare
Cautiously, and slowly he takes the battered  barrier down
Then gazes into the possibilities,  
of where love is said to be found...
