Snapshots

I will wake when you do
(usually when I feel your kisses travelling across my shoulder and up my neck)
even though I'll make sure you're
beautifully asleep before letting it take me.

I will go where you do
(because I can't just stay behind when you get up to leave)
even though it surely gets expensive
the car doesn't mind running to empty for you.

I will take the batteries out of the clock
(because I always dreamt about having superpowers, and if only it was that simple)
even though it doesn't stop everything
you're worth losing the batteries over.

Little snapshots in time; the beautiful moments
Waking up to the I love you's;
The brief kiss before you get out of the car;
Catching you looking at me with that expression...
The little snapshots are worth everything.
