Burning Faith

(PART TWO OF THE TRAGEDY OF GOD-CROSSED LOVERS)

I have searched high and low
From Heaven’s spires to the pits below.
But no trace of Faith remains,
On my soul like a stain.

The tragedy beckons me
To seek revenge.

I can still smell the scent of her burning,
She still sends my heart to churning.
An angel, like a comet in the night,
Faith was the only thing that brought me light.

I rant,
      “Father, I still blame you
For what was done to one who so loved.
      She was my only joy!
How can you still rule above?”

They say I am a fallen angel
But I only followed her angle.
The drop from Heaven was nothing,
Compared to seeing her burning.

I know she waits for me
On Earth somewhere.

But where has she gone?
Leaving me all alone.
Hell is just so empty
Without you beside me.

He curses,
“Son, I wish I could say this was
A mistake, God damn you from afar!
In Hell you will be a toy!
      I damn you, morning star.”

Does she hide in the bells of vespers,
Or in little saint’s whispers?
So, I still search without Faith
For her ever restless wraith.

If you can hear my cries,
Won’t you answer me?

She whispers,
“The Lords eyes search for me
So I cannot allow for my vision
      To be found by him.
Thus, I must fight my demon.”

Now I know that she still remains
Upon this world of grains.
Hide if you must, soon we’ll reunite
And take to The Lord our fight.
