Sinking to Death

Broken hearts shed tears
of pain,
swollen eyes bleed out
leaving stains,
trembling hands reach
into emptiness,
thoughts are speaking
in muted voices,
this can't be love or
happiness,
it's a long death sentence
for most,
living in the corners of
a shifty soul,
wearing faceless faces
in white,
sinking to the bottom of
wetless water,
breathing never mattered
to sorrow,
there's no going back to
the rough surface
