Burning Embers
My demon feeds on me everyday
Like a parasite drinking me away.
A succubus laying on the bed,
Her whispers echo in my head.
I have grown to love the abuse
She’s just another drug to use.
She sucks on me while she feeds me
Always taking and giving what I need.
But like all good things, she cannot last
In the sunlight, she’s burning fast.
A fading echo from a scream that’s rent,
Singing me one last lament.
Tenderly, I collect the remains
Of my everlasting shame.
I will keep her here forever,
I cannot lose her, never!
But she burns with lasting flame
In time to play another game.
I will wait, here and afar.
With her burning ember jar.
