God's Will

of these
seems the better choice
to you:

A or B?

The answer is "A."
Do you know why?

Because
I have rationalized
that this is the way
I want it,
and, on the basis
of that,
I am able
to then objectify you
and treat you
any way I see fit,
and this is the basis
of my morality.

I push you
until you push back
and because you
have dared
to offend my sense
of what is right
and what is wrong,
I have been given
full authority
by myself
to deem you unworthy
of humane treatment,

even though
I might do
exactly the same thing,

because it is
when you do it
and remind me
of my own self-loathing
that I proclaim
my sovereignty
over your own values
and aesthetic

and am able
to assert my ego
over you
and call it
God's will.
