Jewels in a velvet box
To have you close tucked in my bed
curled against me warm and safe
lips upon your neck ,hands about your breasts
to talk of this and that, family friends and dogs,
serendipity before we drift to sleep.
No turmoil, no desire for satin gowns
last night’s passion a distant memory,
to return another day in the self same bed.
We are complete, virgin in our love
hold those parts we know so well,
Golden locks about my neck
Fingers confused in darker curls
sweet temptation waits another day
hands to reassure, confirm a love
jewels in a velvet box.
