Last rose edited today
One last rose, petals fall,
their work done, butterflies
will call no more this year
pupating in the eaves,thick
with ivy,its late flowers
and soon black berries
to defy the frosts.
Blackbirds and pigeons compete
to eat the most, like silly men
chewing crackers for a prize..
