The Sea and The Shore
Can the Sea not accept?
Or do her eyes not see?
That I push and pull with all in me,
To get the world just right.
I do not plead for her mercy.
As if expecting her to hear,
My silent tears
Crying through a shell.
That I alone
Cannot hold the waters to me.
They are forever within my grasp,
Out of my capability.
The Sea can only scold motherly,
And expect more.
The Shore can only try harder,
To hold upon it the world.
Or do her eyes not see?
That I push and pull with all in me,
To get the world just right.
I do not plead for her mercy.
As if expecting her to hear,
My silent tears
Crying through a shell.
That I alone
Cannot hold the waters to me.
They are forever within my grasp,
Out of my capability.
The Sea can only scold motherly,
And expect more.
The Shore can only try harder,
To hold upon it the world.
