Longing for the Lost

So many times that I’m alone
So many crimes, I must atone
Faith it seems, has abandoned me
Years, I’ve lost what’s mine
Just to drink from the vine
Now hung out to dry on the tree

Dionysus
Where did the days go?
Of such wicked splendors
And the constant wine flow?
Dionysus
Those days are long past
In the shadows of time
From the beginning to the last

In the past woods with Satyrs
White sounds like a broken fader
Time it seems, has abandoned me
Joys I’ve lost in time
Pitiful, I drink from the vine
Shattered and broken on the tree

The wine used to flow
Like a tree seemed to grow
Always
Available for the parched
Now dry like an arch
In the sun

Dionysus
Where did the days go?
Of such wicked splendors
And the constant wine flow?
Dionysus
Those days are long past
In the shadows of time
From the beginning to the last

I will never again see the nymphs
Singing their melodies in a glimpse
For now, they have abandoned me
I’m as if a skull left to bleach
Can longer be a god, out of reach
Shined and polish, set upon a tree
