Innocence Lost

To the days of innocence lost
They came so quick and at what cost
One night alone decisions made
With our futures and hearts we paid
A lustful choice not to protect
Our lives we soon thought we wrecked
Looking back upon that one day
I now describe that moment and say
I don't regret the end result
It was what made me a man and an adult
Careers not the ones dreamt about
But your worth it all, my beautiful sprout
Traded parties out on the lake
To be with you in case you were to wake
Hanging out with friends forgotten
To ensure my baby would turn out rotten
My life's perfect curveball twist
None of that matters because you exist
