The Screaming Woods

Moonlight stabs through the tree tops
Your heart beats so fast it might stop
A chill covers you, cold as the grave
In the grip of night, the woods scream
My name

You cannot hide but you can run
That just makes it that much more fun
Shrouded trees around you, either side
Welcome home, in these woods, this house
Is mine

You came for only fun and games
Now you’re facing the rending flames
I must purify you of your sins
You have come face to face with the death
Head’s grin

Thunder rolls and the toll of the bell
Tossed in the pits, with the putrid smell
Nothing seems real here anymore
With your dying body crawling underneath
The floor

Hear me speak the names of power
From the deepest pits to the highest tower
I bid your soul to them as their slave
In the flickering candle light, the woods scream
Their names

A man draped in shadow stands at the door
He steps across your body under the floor
He smells of dirt and of mildew grave
You scream at the time that the woods scream
His name
