Yes, the key word that makes the rhyme work.

Looked up befall and found so many entries different in meaning ... Took one I liked better than others and think since we're "crumbled" together, we're hopefully humbler than before. I don't know ... Awesome poem.

My intent for "befall" was "happen" as "what will happen to us," but the multiple meanings are just fine.
